Ultra Hold Lash Adhesive Ingredients Explained
Our flagship eyelash extension adhesive, Ultra Hold, contains the following ingredients:
Ethyl Cyanoacrylate (92%)
The main ingredient in our adhesive, Ethyl Cyanoacrylate, is a colourless liquid with a thin consistency. This important ingredient is most commonly used in medical glues such as liquid bandages. Due to this, it is toxin free and safe for use around the skin.
PM.M.A (also known as Pol.ymet.hyl Met.hacr.yla.te) is the ingredient that gives our lash adhesive it's outstanding hold. Only a tiny amount (3%) is needed as a little goes a long way.
Hy.dr.oqu.ino.ne (less than 1%)
This ingredient has an unfortunate reputation due to it being used in whit.eni.ng ski.n cr.eams in very high concentrations. In our case an extremely small amount (less than 1% of 10ml) is added to the eyelash adhesive which results in much better stability (more resistant to clumping or separating) and a longer shelf life (when opened or factory sealed).
To put this in context, a 10ml bottle of glue is used for 10’s of clients, and never comes in contact with the sk.in when applied correctly. Also, only a few drops of glue are worn anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks. Compare that to a whi.ten.ing sk.in cre.am where you could be smothering as much as 10g of cr.eam all over your fa.ce every morning or evening.
Carbon Black (4%)
Commonly used in food and beverages, this 100% safe coloring ingredient gives the adhesive it's black pigmentation.
There are a number of eyelash extension suppliers in New Zealand selling lash adhesives who don't mention where the glue was made, what ingredients it actually contains or provide any proof to backup their vague claims such as "medical grade".
Don't risk your client's safety. We know how important choosing the right eyelash adhesive is, so we've tried to be as transparent as possible and give you as much information as we can so that you can make your own informed decision.
